A bit overshadowed by the ones that precede and follow it, this show is a total gas the whole way through. Garcia = ON. There lots of highlights here, but my personal favorite moments include the high-energy versions of GSET and Truckin', with a funky Noboby's jam, and a moving jam suite of Playin'>Half-Step>Big River>Playin'. Other than the 10/21 show, this is the only combo of these that I know of, which makes it extra special. But the best part of the show may just be the absolutely stunning China>Rider which contains one of the most triumphant Feelin' Groovy jams ever performed! The sound is not exactly pristine, and there are some rough audience patches, but that really shouldn't hinder the enjoyment of this underrated show; really it's fall '73 at its finest: http://www.archive.org/details/gd73-10-27.sbd.wier.16583.sbeok.shnf

Ha sorry, I couldn't wait so I put on 10/28/72. Was really in the mood for that Dark Star. I haven't been in 73 in a while, really. That'll change real soon with 10/29-30/73.

Yeah I know, just about every show from the Fall 71 tour is when things start getting really interesting, then there's some 72's, then there's 2 or 3 solid months of badassery in 73. And when you need to cleanse the pallette there's a few October 76's, and for those who like Fall 77, there's heaps of fun in 10/29. There's probably shows from 1979-1995 in there worth mentioning, but I can't think of them. Oh, well except for the Warfield run in 80...
